John Grellner

John brings over 10 years of investing experience in real estate private equity, venture capital, and special opportunities at Teachers Retirement System of Texas. In addition, and along with Bert Alanis, the two of them have purchased three home services businesses in the Austin area between 2022 and 2024, and have incorporated them into one large home services brand, running 9-10 trucks daily. John received his MBA from The University of Texas - McCombs School of Business, and his M.S. in Finance and B.S. in Real Estate and Finance from Florida State University graduating with honors. At Florida State University, John was a member of the varsity Men’s Cross Country and Track & Field teams.

Bert Alanis

Bert brings over 10 years of extensive M&A and investment banking experience with Evercore M&A and real estate private equity. Along with John Grellner, the two of them have purchased three home services businesses in the Austin area between 2022 and 2024, and have incorporated them into one large home services brand, running 9-10 trucks daily. Bert received his MBA from The University of Texas - McCombs School of Business and his B.A. in Economics from Harvard University graduating with honors. Originally from the Rio Grande Valley, Bert now lives in South Austin with his wife and two dogs.

Scott Sternstein

Scott brings a proven track record in sourcing and executing deals—from small owner-operated businesses to large-scale real estate investments—through roles at JLL and Springdale Ventures. At Greystar, he focused on investment management and operational efficiency, deepening his understanding of what drives business value. Throughout his career, Scott and his teams have executed over $250M in total transaction value. Scott earned his MBA from The University of Texas at Austin – McCombs School of Business and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Georgia.
